BOC Aviation has announced the placement of five Airbus A321neo aircraft with Thai Airways International (THAI), reinforcing its long-standing relationship with Thailand’s national carrier. The aircraft, sourced from BOC Aviation’s existing orderbook, will be equipped with CFM LEAP-1A engines, known for their fuel efficiency and advanced performance.
“We are pleased to be working once more with long-time customer, Thai Airways,” said Steven Townend, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BOC Aviation. “The delivery of these technologically advanced aircraft is an important transaction in the development of our portfolio and will support Thai Airways as it expands its fleet and regional network.”
This agreement represents a key milestone for both companies. For THAI, the additional A321neos mark a step forward in modernizing its fleet and enhancing its regional service offerings. For BOC Aviation, it adds to a dynamic portfolio that, as of March 31, 2025, includes 829 owned, managed, and on-order aircraft and engines. The company leases to 93 airlines across 48 countries and regions, and is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx: 2588), with headquarters in Singapore and offices in Dublin, London, New York, and Tianjin.
Thai Airways, founded in 1960 and a founding member of the Star Alliance, currently operates a fleet of 80 aircraft from its primary hub at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, serving 63 destinations both domestically and internationally.
