Casio has long been synonymous with durability, ever since the brand introduced its first G-SHOCK in 1983. Known for crafting watches that endure the harshest conditions, the Japanese company is now taking innovation a step further with the release of the G-SHOCK GA-010 Series. This new line promises to redefine toughness while focusing on sustainability and comfort.
The GA-010 Series, which includes the GA010CE and GD010CE models, boasts a remarkable 10-year battery life and a design built to endure heavy use. Both timepieces incorporate eco-friendly materials, such as bio-based resin for critical components and Cordura fabric straps made from recycled PET plastic fiber. The Cordura material, developed by Invista, is recognized for its durability and minimal environmental impact.
In line with its green credentials, the watches are dyed with food-grade textile dyes derived from red turnips (GA010CE) and echinacea (GD010CE), further reinforcing their environmentally conscious design while offering unique color schemes.
Despite their long-lasting battery, the GA-010 Series doesn’t sacrifice functionality. Both models include essential features such as alarms, LED lights, timers, stopwatches, and world time for 48 cities. The GD010CE offers added convenience with time access to four pre-registered cities. However, both watches are water-resistant only up to 20 meters.
The case of each model is crafted from carbon fiber-reinforced resin, enhancing the watch‘s lightness and strength. The bio-based resin used for the bezel and case is sourced from renewable organic resources, contributing to the series’ eco-friendly ethos.
The G-SHOCK GA-010 Series is available in two models: the GA010CE, priced at $140, which features a larger case size of 55.1×51.9×17.5mm, and the GD010CE, available for $120, with a slightly smaller size of 54.9×51.9×16.1mm. Both models combine Casio’s legacy of toughness with a commitment to sustainability.
