The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is set to host two premier jewellery exhibitions in early March, continuing its successful “two shows, two venues” format. The 11th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show will take place at AsiaWorld-Expo from March 2 to 6, showcasing a vast selection of raw materials, while the 41st Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 4 to 8, featuring exquisite finished jewellery. The twin events are expected to provide exhibitors and buyers with valuable global trade opportunities.
Expanding International Presence
Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, highlighted the scale and international appeal of this year’s exhibitions.
“This year, our twin jewellery shows will welcome around 4,000 exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions, with nearly 70% of them coming from outside Hong Kong,” Chong said. “Notably, exhibitors from Japan, Spain, French Polynesia, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, and Lebanon are expanding their presence, reaffirming Hong Kong’s status as a key global jewellery trading hub.”
Despite challenges in the global jewellery market, Hong Kong’s fine jewellery exports saw a 10% year-on-year increase to the United States in 2024, while shipments to the European Union, the Middle East, and ASEAN markets grew by 6.5%, 3.8%, and 2.6%, respectively.
38 Pavilions and a Strong Global Turnout
The 2025 edition will feature 38 geographic and industry pavilions, bringing together major jewellery markets, including Mainland China, India, Japan, Thailand, the UK, Israel, and the US. The Asia Jewelry Culture Design and Crafts Association will make its debut, while returning participants include the Tanzanite Foundation, Asia Pacific Creator Association, and International Colored Gemstone Association.
To enhance inclusivity, HKTDC has introduced new initiatives catering to Muslim buyers, such as shuttle services to mosques, curated halal dining recommendations, and guided city tours in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
Spotlight on Innovation and Craftsmanship
Themed “Symphony of Sparkles,” this year’s event will emphasize artistry and craftsmanship, particularly through the Designer Jewellery Galleria. Exhibitors will showcase rare techniques like the filigree inlay, an ancient Chinese craft designated as intangible cultural heritage.
Among the standout designs:
Changzhou Yi’an Jewelry Co., Ltd will present its award-winning 18K gold wheat ear designs.
Austy Lee Company Limited will unveil a snake-shaped necklace to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
Zuri Jewelry Company Limited will introduce a “Panda and Bamboo” collection, inspired by Hong Kong’s beloved giant pandas, An An and Ke Ke.
A new Gold Jewellery Zone will debut this year, featuring affordable luxury pieces, including Malaysian brand CHL Innovation Industries’ durian-shaped gold pendant.
Rare Treasures and Emerging Trends
High-value gems remain a key attraction, with exhibitors showcasing exceptional pieces:
Unique Brilliant Limited (Hong Kong) will exhibit a 40+ carat unheated Tanzanian ruby pendant.
Emco Gem (USA) will present Colombian emeralds ranging from 9 to 15 carats.
Fine Star Jewellery & Diamond (India) will showcase a 30-carat fancy yellow diamond.
HYT International HK Limited (Hong Kong) will unveil a 1.5-carat heart-shaped pink diamond from Australia.
Additionally, men’s and unisex jewellery are rising trends, with 200+ exhibitors unveiling modern, fashion-forward collections.
Sustainability and AI Take Center Stage
The shows will host 30+ industry events, focusing on sustainability, jewellery technology, and AI innovations. Experts from ISO, GEMFIELDS, and leading gemological labs will discuss ethical sourcing, ESG standards, and AI-powered gemstone authentication.
Tech-forward solutions will also enhance the trade experience. The HKTDC’s EXHIBITION+ hybrid format integrates digital and in-person interactions through tools like Click2Match AI business matching, Scan2Match QR codes for instant exhibitor connections, and eBadge verification for seamless entry.
A Global Platform for Jewellery Excellence
As Hong Kong strengthens its role as a premier jewellery sourcing and trading hub, these twin exhibitions provide an unparalleled platform for industry players to network, discover the latest trends, and explore business opportunities in a dynamic international setting.
