Qatar Museums (QM) has extended an invitation to the public to explore the ‘Chaumet & Nature’ jewellery exhibition, which will close on December 19 at M7. The exhibition, organized by Maison Chaumet in collaboration with QM, M7, and Qatar Creates, celebrates the 240-year legacy of the renowned French jewellery house.
Featuring nearly 107 exquisite jewellery pieces and 111 visual artworks, ‘Chaumet & Nature’ showcases Chaumet’s extraordinary craftsmanship and its unique designs, inspired by the vitality and beauty of the natural world. Founded in 1780, Maison Chaumet is one of France’s oldest and most iconic jewellery houses, with a rich history closely tied to the nation’s development. Its legacy began with its first major client, Napoleon Bonaparte, for whom Chaumet’s founder, Marie-Étienne Nitot, designed a magnificent épée for his coronation.
The exhibition blends Chaumet’s remarkable collections with those of Qatar Museums, highlighting their shared history dating back to the 1970s. It also emphasizes M7’s role in connecting local talent with global brands. One of the standout projects involved the creation of Maison Chaumet’s Arabic logo, designed by Qatar-based artist Zainab AlShibani in partnership with M7. AlShibani’s work elegantly combines the Maison’s heritage of sophistication with the spirit of innovation, symbolizing the fusion of tradition and modernity and underscoring the powerful connection between local creativity and Chaumet’s esteemed legacy.
