Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has announced the sale of its third 49.9-metre Flexplorer 165 yacht, marking a significant milestone for the brand. The yacht, commissioned by a seasoned North American owner, is the seventh unit in the Flexplorer series to be sold. The sale was facilitated in collaboration with Chris Holtzheuser of Allied Marine.
The Flexplorer 165, the flagship model of the Flexplorer series, is renowned for its exceptional design and performance. With a length of 49.9 metres, it offers a versatile layout, ideal for large families. CdM has three Flexplorer 165 yachts currently under construction, each featuring customized layouts, deck configurations, and equipment.
Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and CEO of CdM, expressed pride in securing this contract, noting that it marks the first in a series of three sales expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.
Designed by Italian studio Hydro Tec for exterior styling and naval architecture, and with interiors by Giorgio M. Cassetta of Cassetta Yacht Designers, the Flexplorer 165 is built for luxury and functionality. The yacht’s layout includes a skylounge that can be converted into an additional stateroom, and a portside stateroom on the lower deck that can serve as a private lounge or an extra guest suite.
This particular yacht will feature a Grady-White Freedom 285 Dual Console tender, chosen by the owner for his passion for fishing. To accommodate the tender, the yacht will be equipped with an A-frame crane with a 4.5-ton lifting capacity.
The Flexplorer 165 will be powered by twin Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines, providing 970 kW at 1800 rpm. This will allow the yacht to reach a maximum speed of 15 knots and achieve a range of over 5,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots.
Buonpensiere concluded that the success of the Flexplorer series underscores CdM’s commitment to innovation and craftsmanship, tailored to meet the unique needs of its discerning clientele. The sale of this third Flexplorer 165 in 2024 highlights the continued appeal of the series.
