Samsung has officially started rolling out its One UI 6 Watch update to older Wear OS-powered smartwatches, the company announced today.
One UI 6 Watch, Samsung’s customized version of Wear OS 5, introduces a range of new features aimed at enhancing health tracking, fitness management, and device interoperability. Key health-focused updates include AI-driven health tips, FDA-cleared sleep apnea detection, and the Energy Score metric, which evaluates recovery from exercise and stress. Additionally, the new Workout Routine feature allows users to design custom workouts by combining multiple activity types. Runners and cyclists can benefit from the Race feature, which enables comparisons of current and past workouts.
Beyond fitness, One UI 6 Watch adds fresh watch face options and improved integration with Galaxy devices. Users with Galaxy smartphones will gain access to AI-generated suggested replies and a revamped double pinch gesture. Previously available as an accessibility feature, the pinch gesture has now been incorporated into the primary interface for broader use.
Samsung has confirmed that the update will initially roll out to the Galaxy Watch 6 series. Over the coming weeks, it will expand to other models, including the Galaxy Watch FE, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 4.
For users eager to explore the new features, patience may be necessary as the rollout progresses.
