Porsche has expanded its Taycan electric sedan range, introducing three new variants as part of the updated model for 2024. With these additions, including the Taycan 4, Taycan GTS, and Taycan GTS Sport Turismo, Porsche now offers 16 different configurations, catering to a wide array of customer preferences with varying drive types, power levels, and ranges.
The latest revisions to the Taycan, unveiled in February, already saw improvements in motor power, range, and charging capacity, boosting its appeal as a high-performance electric vehicle. Now, Porsche is further enhancing the Taycan lineup with new options designed to appeal to customers seeking both performance and efficiency. These three new variants are available to order now and will begin arriving at dealerships in early 2025.
Taycan 4: All-Wheel Drive with Improved Range
The Taycan 4, a sports sedan with all-wheel drive, is available with two battery options: the standard Performance battery or the optional Performance Battery Plus. Depending on the chosen battery, the Taycan 4 delivers up to 320 kW of overboost power with Launch Control. The Performance battery offers a range of up to 559 km (WLTP), while the Performance Battery Plus extends that range to 643 km—just 35 km shy of the corresponding rear-wheel drive models.
Priced from €106,200, the Taycan 4 offers improved driving stability and traction compared to the rear-wheel drive variant, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the standard Taycan. The all-wheel drive system is designed to optimize efficiency, decoupling the front motor when not needed and re-engaging it instantaneously for acceleration or regenerative braking.
Taycan GTS: High-Performance Sport Sedan and Sport Turismo
The new Taycan GTS is available in two body styles: the traditional sedan and the Sport Turismo, a Porsche term for a sportback model. Both variants are powered by an overboost output of up to 515 kW, enabling them to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, 0.4 seconds faster than the previous GTS models. Range has also seen a significant boost, with the Taycan GTS now offering up to 628 km (WLTP), a 120 km increase over its predecessor.
The Taycan GTS features distinct styling cues, including black or anthracite grey details on the exterior, Sport Design front and rear lower sections, and exclusive 20-inch or 21-inch wheels painted in anthracite grey. Pricing for the Taycan GTS starts at €147,700, while the Sport Turismo version begins at €148,600.
A Broadening Lineup for Every Driver
Kevin Giek, Head of the Taycan series at Porsche, emphasized the brand’s commitment to offering a diverse lineup that meets a wide range of customer needs. “With the extremely wide-ranging Taycan lineup, we meet a wide range of customer wishes and mobility needs. Our three latest innovations exemplify this exceptional breadth,” Giek said. “The new Taycan GTS continues to be the sporty standard-bearer of the model line, while the Taycan 4 combines the efficiency of the entry-level model with the enhanced handling of all-wheel drive.”
These new variants further solidify the Taycan’s position as a leader in the electric performance sedan market, offering an array of choices for those looking for a combination of power, efficiency, and luxury in their electric vehicle.
