As November approaches its midpoint, BMW has begun delivering the highly anticipated seventh-generation M5 (G90) to eager buyers, with some fortunate customers receiving their cars at the iconic BMW Welt in Munich. One of the first M5s to change hands, a customer-ordered model featuring German license plates, was recently collected through the BMW delivery program.
This particular M5 is finished in Frozen Black, a matte paint from BMW’s Individual catalog, and showcases a host of high-performance and aesthetic options. Among the standout features is the optional carbon fiber roof, side mirror caps, and trunk lid spoiler. However, it departs from the press car’s configuration by forgoing the carbon-ceramic brakes with their signature gold calipers in favor of standard compound brakes, complete with red calipers (though blue or black are also available as options).
The 20-inch 951 M wheels are finished in an all-black design, though they are also offered in a two-tone variant. A different wheel design, the 952 M, comes exclusively in a bi-color finish. Interestingly, BMW has not yet made a traditional silver finish available for the M5’s wheels, though the smaller M models (M2, M3, M4) now offer silver wheels for 2025.
Inside, the M5 features a bold Red/Black Merino leather upholstery, complemented by carbon fiber trim on the dashboard and door panels. Notably, the M5 is not yet available with carbon bucket seats, though this may change later in the model’s lifecycle, potentially with a special M5 CS variant or similar high-performance model.
With the introduction of the M5 Touring G99, which is set to compete with models like the Audi RS6 Avant, BMW’s new wagon variant could affect the G90 sedan’s sales, particularly in markets like the US, Germany, the UK, Canada, and Switzerland. While the sedan remains a performance powerhouse, the return of the long-roof M5 may attract a significant number of customers looking for a more versatile yet equally thrilling driving experience.
