Miami Fashion Week® (MIAFW) announced today its vibrant designer lineup for the upcoming showcase set to take place from November 19–23, 2024. This year’s event marks a significant expansion to its annual calendar and will coincide with Miami’s bustling season of high-profile events. Attendees can look forward to thrilling runway shows, sustainability initiatives, and exclusive activations that reflect the city’s energetic spirit.
Following the success of the January 2024 event, which introduced a focus on streetwear, MIAFW is enhancing its legacy of Resort showcases by embracing a diverse range of design genres. This November, Lafayette 148 New York will unveil their Resort collection at the chic Mr. C Coconut Grove. Esteemed designers returning to the MIAFW stage include Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, who will present her inspiring new autobiography, and Yas González, known for her designs inspired by the essence of Miami. Celebrity designer Giannina Azar will once again bring her signature glamour to the runway, while Shantall Lacayo will showcase a collection that fuses culturally rich designs with contemporary artistry.
In a bid to support local talent, MIAFW proudly introduces the “MiamiMade” initiative, welcoming new designers, including the acclaimed Sigal. The event’s international roster will also feature Claro Couture from Spain, offering a touch of European elegance, and Venezuelan designer Yenny Bastida, who is celebrated for her blend of sustainability and high fashion. Further announcements of new designers are expected, adding to the excitement of the upcoming event.
“Miami Fashion Week has always stood as a vibrant crossroads of creativity and culture,” stated Lourdes Fernandez-Velasco, Executive Director of Miami Fashion Week. “With an exciting new designer lineup and our continued commitment to sustainability, the event captures the unstoppable spirit that solidifies Miami as a thriving cultural hub. This November, we’re merging innovation with meaningful dialogue to commemorate fashion and redefine its future.”
MIAFW is grateful for the support of Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami Beach as it continues to promote industry growth and innovation. Reaffirming its commitment to sustainability, MIAFW will host its Miami Fashion Week Summit in collaboration with Miami Dade College. The Summit, now expanded to a two-day format, will convene industry experts to discuss sustainable practices and the future of the industry in the age of influencers. The Miami Fashion Institute’s talented students will also showcase a collection at the Gary Nader Art Centre, highlighting the next generation of local talent.
For over 20 years, MIAFW has gone beyond the runway to unite industry leaders and visionaries from around the globe, offering an immersive experience filled with discussions and activations that spark creativity. With a return to iconic venues, including the Gary Nader Art Centre and its celebrated Botero exhibit, MIAFW continues to drive innovation, elevate extraordinary designers, and celebrate the rich intersections of fashion, art, and culture.
