Geraldine O’Meara, an Offaly-based designer, recently made a stunning debut at Paris Fashion Week, presenting her spring/summer 2025 collection at one of the industry’s premier events.
O’Meara, who operates her studio in Crinkle, Birr, hand-crafted all the pieces showcased in the Flying Solo collection. This initiative aims to support independent designers in fashion, accessories, and footwear by providing access to major fashion shows. Notably, O’Meara was the only Irish designer featured in this prestigious lineup.
Her runway show took place on September 30 at La Galerie Bourbon, presenting a blend of structured and flowing dresses alongside expertly tailored separates that highlighted O’Meara’s craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
The collection, titled “Timeless Romance,” merges 1950s elegance with contemporary elements, honoring the classic style while incorporating modern fabrics. O’Meara reported a positive response to her work in Paris and is optimistic that this exposure will enhance her recognition beyond Ireland.
Selected for the Flying Solo collection after a submission in March and receiving confirmation in May, O’Meara continues to expand her portfolio. In addition to seasonal ready-to-wear collections, she specializes in bespoke occasion and bridal wear. Among her notable designs is the wedding dress for country music star Cliona Hagan, worn during Hagan’s marriage to Simon Sheerin in May 2022. O’Meara has also dressed prominent figures such as Kathryn Thomas, Lucy Kennedy, and Mary Cowen, the wife of former Taoiseach Brian Cowen, during her visits to the White House for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with President Obama and the First Lady.
