Shanghai – Woobaby, a rising star in the designer children’s clothing market, unveiled its autumn/winter collection at the KIDS WEAR showcase during Shanghai Fashion Week, held at the 800Show in the Jing’an district. The runway was transformed into an enchanting realm filled with fluffy friends, featuring whimsical elements like spaceships, towering fuzzy monsters, and streets adorned with soft textures, captivating both the child models and the audience.
Founded in 2020, Woobaby has rapidly established itself as a dynamic force in the industry, garnering attention for its innovative approach to children’s fashion. The brand’s design philosophy breaks away from conventional styles, embracing a child’s perspective to create bold, playful garments that respect and encourage children’s natural instincts. This distinctive approach has resonated with a community of young families who appreciate the brand’s expressive attitude.
At the fashion event, Woobaby debuted its original star series, Fluffy Friends, which includes three beloved characters: Berry Cake, Bowknot, and Cocoa Beans. Creative Director Jensen shared that the inspiration for this series stemmed from childhood companions—plush toys—each infused with unique personalities through original designs. These characters serve as intimate partners for children as they grow. The collection showcases a meticulous attention to detail in fabric selection, prints, and tailoring, ensuring it appeals to both children and parents alike.
The Fluffy Friends down series features high-end tailoring techniques, moving away from traditional fabric splicing methods. Designers have skillfully crafted three-dimensional fuzzy dolls on jackets using stereoscopic collation of unit structures. Each piece is made from 800-fill power premium duck down, with partitioned filling designed to provide exceptional warmth.
The autumn/winter new arrivals presented at the showcase received widespread acclaim from industry professionals for their unique designs, premium fabrics, and exquisite craftsmanship.
Celebrating its 21st year, Shanghai Fashion Week has solidified its position as a leading industry event, ranking just behind the world’s four major fashion weeks. The KIDS WEAR segment has emerged as a premier platform for children’s fashion, setting trends and offering a stage for talented Chinese designers to gain international recognition.
