The 37.8-meter yacht Lumière, built by Dutch shipyard Moonen and delivered in June 2024, has made its debut in Sardinia during its inaugural Mediterranean summer. Captured by renowned yacht photographer Charl van Rooy, the vessel gleamed under the Italian sun, offering a stunning sight at a picturesque anchorage.
Owned by an Australian family, Lumière marks their first season aboard the yacht. Expressing their satisfaction, the owners praised Moonen’s craftsmanship, stating, “Moonen and their extended team delivered an exceptional vessel. After her delivery to Mallorca from the Netherlands, we spent four weeks cruising with family and friends, and everyone was amazed by the quality and comfort.” They also highlighted the joy of seeing four Moonen Martinique yachts docked together at Port Adriano, calling them “the finest yachts there.”
Lumière is the fifth yacht in Moonen’s celebrated Martinique series, noted for its fast-displacement hull and long-range cruising capabilities. Designed with a seamless blend of indoor-outdoor living and exceptional customization options, the yacht was tailored to the owners’ preferences throughout its two-year construction. Key features include an extended sundeck with a hot tub, a customized swim platform, and an interior designed in collaboration with Studio Indigo.
The yacht’s captain emphasized the superior quality and safety of Moonen vessels, stating, “It’s comforting to know you are on a Moonen, where safety in quality makes the difference,” and described the Martinique model as “simply the best in her size range.”
Constructed with a high-tensile steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, Lumière achieves a top speed of 17 knots and boasts a cruising range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. With a volume of 345 gross tons, the yacht comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests across five cabins, alongside a crew of seven.
Founded in 1964 under its original name De Ruiter, Moonen Yachts has built a reputation for producing high-quality vessels. The shipyard, renamed Moonen Shipyards in 1981 and later Moonen Yachts in 2017, continues to solidify its position as a leader in the 30-50 meter luxury yacht market through a commitment to visionary design and innovative technology. Lumière is the latest in a long line of Moonen’s exceptional craftsmanship, as the company continues to build on its legacy under new ownership.
