Ifor Williams Trailers (IWT), with manufacturing facilities in Denbighshire and Deeside, has been selected by Bentley to transport a vintage 1930s Bentley Speed Six. The historic car was towed on IWT’s CT177 transporter trailer by a Bentayga Extended Wheelbase, showcasing the synergy between the two generations of Bentley vehicles in the lead-up to this year’s Goodwood Revival festival near Chichester.
Bentley shared footage of the event on social media in early September, gaining significant traction with over 14,000 likes from its 11 million Instagram followers. The Bentley team expressed confidence in IWT’s capabilities, highlighting the firm’s reputation for quality and reliability in transporting valuable vehicles.
Harry Cooklin from Bentley Motors commented, “We have previously partnered with Ifor Williams Trailers, and their trailer designs are known for quality and robustness. They are a reputable family firm that shares our commitment to excellence. I had the pleasure of driving the Bentayga while towing the CT177 trailer from Cheshire to Chichester, and it drove beautifully. The Bentayga Azure’s powerful V8 engine provided an exceptional towing experience, setting a new benchmark for luxury SUVs.”
This collaboration marks another successful venture between Ifor Williams Trailers and Bentley, following last year’s provision of a tilted trailer that helped Bentley achieve a record time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Lois Wynne, sales manager at Ifor Williams Trailers, expressed pride in supporting Bentley during this prestigious event: “We are honored to have facilitated the transport of the classic Bentley Speed Six with our CT177 car transporter trailer. The Goodwood Revival celebrates the golden era of motorsport, and we are delighted to contribute to showcasing such an iconic piece of automotive history at one of the year’s most anticipated classic car events.”
Looking ahead, Cooklin noted, “With the ongoing production of the limited run Speed Six Continuation Series and other exciting projects on the horizon, we anticipate further collaborations with the Ifor Williams team in the near future.”
