Cantieri di Pisa has announced that the Akhir 44 will be the inaugural model of its new Akhir line. This 44-meter yacht, designed by Antonio Luxardo, merges the brand’s rich heritage with modern innovation.
The Akhir 44 preserves classic design elements such as strip windows, a distinctive “shark-like” bow decoration, and horizontal-grid air intakes. These features create a seamless connection between the yacht’s historical roots and contemporary design.
A key highlight of the Akhir 44 is its lightweight carbon fiber composite hull and superstructure, constructed using a vacuum-moulding process. The yacht is also equipped with an innovative EHPH Power Fin hull, enhancing performance and fuel efficiency while maintaining the aesthetic integrity of the Akhir line.
Cantieri di Pisa’s introduction of the Akhir line aims to attract modern yacht owners while honoring the company’s legacy. Antonio Luxardo’s role was crucial in integrating advanced technologies and minimizing environmental impact while staying true to the brand’s historical design elements.
During the recent press conference, Cantieri di Pisa CEO Marco Massabò discussed the company’s progress under new ownership, including significant facility expansions and the launch of new lines such as Polaris and Saturno. The company has invested six million euros to modernize its production facilities, now covering 50,000 square meters with a 24,000-square-meter refit area.
Since the new management team took over in 2021, Cantieri di Pisa has experienced notable growth. The shipyard is currently working on six projects, including the high-speed 80 Veloce yacht and a 37.50-meter explorer vessel slated for launch in 2026. The company’s robust 2024 order book, valued at 27 million euros, includes 17 million euros in new builds and 10 million euros in refits. Sales have risen from three million euros in 2021 to four million euros in 2023, reflecting steady growth under the new ownership of Enrico Gennasio.
