Breitling, renowned for its innovative collaborations, celebrated the launch of its Chronomat B01 NFL Collection with a high-profile tailgate party last Thursday in front of its boutique in New York’s Meatpacking District. This event marked a pioneering partnership between the luxury Swiss watchmaker and all 32 NFL teams, a first for the industry.
The new collection, featuring timepieces themed around each NFL team, is available exclusively at Breitling boutiques, authorized dealers, and online, where many models are already sold out. Prices for the watches range from $8,800 to $9,200, contributing approximately $30 million in sales for Breitling. The collaboration is described as a “long-term” strategy, potentially paving the way for future limited editions, such as a Super Bowl-themed watch, under the direction of Breitling’s ambitious CEO, Georges Kern.
The launch event, hosted by U.S. Breitling President Thierry Prissert, drew several NFL stars. Boomer Esiason, a long-time Breitling ambassador and former NFL quarterback, engaged in an impromptu discussion with two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning about the upcoming NFL season. Also in attendance were Giants quarterback Tommy “Cutlets” DeVito, two-time Super Bowl Champion Logan Ryan, former Giants running back Tiki Barber, ESPN analyst Eric Mac Lain, and New York Islanders left wing Matt Martin.
Guests enjoyed performances by American rock band Des Rocks, known for opening for the Rolling Stones, and the Brooklyn United Marching Band.
The Chronomat B01 NFL Collection features the signature characteristics of the Chronomat model, including raised rider tabs, a triple-register dial, and a classic rouleaux bracelet. Each watch is adorned with the team logos on the 9 o’clock subdial and the NFL logo on the casebacks. In honor of the NFL’s 104th anniversary, the collection is limited to 104 pieces per design, each numbered. The 42mm steel watches are water-resistant to 200 meters and equipped with Breitling’s B01 column-wheel chronograph caliber, offering a 70-hour power reserve and COSC certification.
