Abriso Jiffy and BridgeInsight have unveiled the Jiffy FlexiBag, a revolutionary paper-based e-commerce packaging solution designed to adapt to the size of the product being shipped. This innovation aims to reduce packaging waste and improve environmental sustainability by eliminating the need for oversized boxes and excess filler materials.
The Jiffy FlexiBag features an expandable gusset, known as HeXpand, which adjusts to fit products such as shoe boxes. This design minimizes the need for larger boxes and reduces the amount of waste generated from unused packaging space. The bag also includes honeycomb cushioning to ensure that products are protected during transit.
According to Abriso Jiffy, the Jiffy FlexiBag not only maintains high durability and resistance but also boasts a low environmental impact. The company, alongside BridgeInsight, plans to expand their collaboration to develop a comprehensive range of sustainable packaging solutions in response to evolving market demands.
“We’re excited to introduce the Jiffy FlexiBag to the UK market,” said Vincent Tarry, General Manager at Abriso Jiffy UK & Ireland. “Innovation should stem from understanding our customers’ needs. BridgeInsight’s research highlighted the demand for right-sized packaging, enhanced sustainability, and reliable product protection. This new bag reflects our commitment to these needs and to sustainable packaging solutions.”
Mondi’s Advantage StretchWrap, an uncoated material made from 100% kraft paper, is being adopted to replace traditional, hard-to-recycle plastic stretch films. Notably, Mondi has collaborated with Meurer to integrate this stretch wrap into the new TrayWrap solution, which is now used by a coffee brand to secure packages for transportation across Sweden.
Additionally, Fourniture Industrie Service has introduced bubble wrap made from recycled kraft paper. This alternative to honeycomb structures and embossed paper provides protection for fragile items during storage and shipping while addressing the growing demand for environmentally conscious packaging options.
