Wine Tasmania is inviting national wine buyers to apply for a coveted two-day trade visit to the island this November. With only 10 spots available, competition is expected to be intense.
Sheralee Davies, CEO of Wine Tasmania, expressed enthusiasm for showcasing the island’s wine culture. “We’re thrilled to host wine trade professionals, offering them a behind-the-scenes look at our lifestyle and exceptional offerings. Attendees will enjoy our wines, local produce, stunning scenery, and the unique Tasmanian hospitality,” Davies said.
Tasmania is renowned for its outstanding wines, including sparkling, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Riesling, as well as its high-quality produce such as truffles, seafood, honey, saffron, cherries, and cheese. The island’s wine producers, though small in scale, offer a rich diversity of styles and sub-regional characteristics. This visit provides an opportunity to experience Tasmanian wines firsthand and meet the people behind them.
The trade visit will take place from November 17-19, 2024, and is supported by the Tasmanian Government. The application process is highly competitive, with up to 160 applications expected for the limited 10 spots available. The visit is open to individuals responsible for wholesale wine purchasing in mainland-based restaurants, wine bars, or independent wine retail businesses.
