In honor of its seven-year anniversary, Frenchies Bistro & Brewery has introduced a new Blonde Ale brew, aptly named the Devil, which debuted at a launch event last night.
Inspired by a Belgian Golden Ale, the Devil boasts an 8.5% ABV and is crafted with Pilsner malts, Bohemian hops, and a rare yeast strain. The beer is characterized by its lively aroma, fresh hop and subtle spice palate, and a rounded mouthfeel that culminates in a refreshing dry finish.
Brewery Director Vincent De Soyres highlighted that the Devil embodies the brewery’s European roots and the key influences that have shaped Frenchies’ evolution.
“We aimed to create something that reflects our European heritage, showcases some of our favorite continental ingredients, and honors a classic beer style that has significantly influenced Frenchies’ growth,” De Soyres explained.
He noted that while last year’s release was the Trippin Balls DDH Tripel—an homage to Delirium Tremens—this year’s brew draws inspiration from the iconic Duvel, reflecting their continued admiration for European brewing traditions.
To mark the occasion and the new release, Frenchies hosted a special edition of its regular Frenchies Family Tasting Nights. Guests had the opportunity to sample the Devil alongside other new brews, including Cool Kids, a tropical hazy IPA, Frenchies Dry, an Australian-style lager, and Frenchies Mid, a 3.5% ABV lager. Cool Kids, the latest in Frenchies’ collaboration series with Hopsters Cooperative Brewery, features HBC 586 hops and delivers tropical flavors with notes of mango, lychee, guava, and citrus, accented by subtle woody undertones.
Despite current challenges in the brewing industry, Frenchies has continued to thrive, especially following the opening of its second site last year. Both sites are operating at full capacity, producing Frenchies’ own beers and contract beverages across various categories, including beer, seltzer, RTD, and non-alcoholic drinks.
De Soyres attributed the brewery’s resilience to the skill and adaptability of the Frenchies team. “Demand for our products and services remains strong, thanks to our flexible and agile operations, unwavering commitment to quality, and our talented production team,” he said.
In exciting developments, Frenchies has expanded its team with the recent addition of Junior Brewer Liam Judd, formerly of East Coast Canning. Judd brings a wealth of industry knowledge to his new role, further strengthening Frenchies’ brewing capabilities.
