For the first time, Piaget has introduced ceramic into its Polo Skeleton collection, debuting the new model at Watches & Wonders Shanghai. The Piaget Polo Skeleton Ceramic combines the Maison’s renowned watchmaking craftsmanship with cutting-edge materials, marking a significant innovation in their ultra-thin watch series.
The development of this timepiece took three years, with the primary challenge being the integration of ceramic into the brand’s signature ultra-thin design. The result is a remarkably slim model with a thickness of just 7.5mm, only 1mm thicker than its steel and gold versions.
The watch features a titanium case treated with black DLC to harmonize with the dark hues of its ceramic components. Its design is predominantly monochromatic, highlighted by an openworked dial with subtle blue accents. The indices, hands, and Piaget logo are rendered in a jewel blue shade, which glows aqua-like in low light.
Powering the Piaget Polo Skeleton Ceramic is the in-house 1200S1 movement, an ultra-thin, self-winding caliber finished in jet black. The timepiece is completed with a classic Piaget rubber strap in matching black, and is priced at $42,900 USD/£36,700 GBP.
