Bentley Motors has made a notable advancement in its sustainability initiatives by becoming the inaugural automotive member of Leather Naturally, a global organization dedicated to the promotion of responsibly-sourced leather. This development underscores Bentley’s commitment to its Beyond100 strategy, which aims to position the brand as a leader in sustainable luxury mobility.
Leather Naturally, an international non-governmental organization, champions the use of certified, ethically-sourced leather as a natural by-product of the food industry. This ensures that materials which might otherwise be wasted are instead repurposed in an environmentally responsible way. Bentley’s affiliation with Leather Naturally builds on its prior environmental commitments, including its 2021 membership in the Leather Working Group, where it advocated for responsible practices and environmental standards in the leather industry.
Further advancing its sustainability agenda, Bentley has introduced an innovative leather option for its vehicles, utilizing a tanning process based on Olive Mill Waste Water, a by-product of olive oil production. This method produces leather devoid of harmful heavy metals, minerals, and aldehydes, aligning with Bentley’s goal of merging luxury with environmental stewardship.
By partnering with Leather Naturally, Bentley continues to set a benchmark in the luxury automotive sector, establishing new standards for sustainable practices and responsible sourcing.
