This summer, the 73.51-meter superyacht Mogambo was anchored in Auke Bay, Southeast Alaska, marking a rare visit to the region. Built by the German shipyard Nobiskrug in 2012, Mogambo is named after the iconic 1950s adventure film starring Clark Gable, Ava Gardner, and Grace Kelly. Designed by Reymond Langton, the luxury motor yacht offers accommodations for up to 12 guests across six staterooms, with a crew of 19 ensuring a high level of service.
Powered by twin MTU engines, Mogambo can reach a top speed of 17 knots and comfortably cruise at 14 knots, boasting an impressive range of over 4,000 nautical miles. Under the ownership of an American tech entrepreneur, the yacht has ventured into less conventional yachting destinations, with her presence in Alaska highlighting her owner’s adventurous spirit.
