Apple is poised to unveil the Apple Watch Series 10 in September, coinciding with the release of the iPhone 16 series. The forthcoming Apple Watch is expected to introduce significant upgrades, including larger displays, a new chip, and potentially advanced health sensors. Here’s what to expect:
Design Enhancements
The Apple Watch Series 10 is set to feature a notably larger display across both its smaller and larger models. The smaller version, currently 41mm, is projected to expand to 45mm, while the larger model will increase from 45mm to 49mm, aligning with the size of the existing Apple Watch Ultra.
In addition to the size increase, the Series 10 will sport a slimmer design, countering any potential bulkiness from the larger screens. The new models are also expected to utilize low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) technology for their OLED displays, which adjusts the refresh rate based on usage to enhance battery efficiency.
Performance Upgrades
The Series 10 will likely be powered by the new S10 chip, featuring a Neural Engine (Neural Processing Unit) that boosts artificial intelligence processing capabilities. While AI features may not debut immediately, this chip is designed to support future AI functionalities and improve overall performance.
Health Monitoring Advancements
Apple is reportedly working on advanced health monitoring capabilities for the Series 10, including hypertension and sleep-apnea detection. However, it remains uncertain whether these features will be available at launch.
