PNG Fashion Week, the leading fashion event in Papua New Guinea, is set to host its seventh season, themed “Ascension,” at the APEC Haus, Ela Beach in Port Moresby. The event is scheduled for Sunday, 15th September 2024.
The change in venue was announced on Saturday, August 10, 2024, by Ms. Philma Kelegai, the Managing Director of PNG Fashion Week. In previous years, the event was successfully held at the Hilton Port Moresby Hotel & Residences, but the organizers believe the new venue will offer fresh inspiration.
“We are immensely proud of our long-standing partnership with the Hilton Port Moresby Hotel and Residences,” said Ms. Kelegai. “The Hilton has been and will continue to be a cherished location for PNG Fashion Week. We will still collaborate closely as we share similar goals.”
Ms. Kelegai expressed excitement about the move to APEC Haus, describing it as a “magnificent symbol of the future of culture.” She added, “We cannot wait to be in awe of what we will witness at Ascension.”
The Ascension event will feature 13 local designers and two international designers. Tickets for the event are expected to go on sale by the end of the week.
