Porsche has introduced a versatile new tent designed to transform its Taycan into a camper with ease. Unveiled by Studio F.A. Porsche in Zell am See, Austria, the Porsche Canopy Tent follows in the footsteps of the brand’s previous Roof Tent but boasts a rear-mounted configuration.
Crafted in a sleek black and gray color scheme with a distinctive mountain silhouette, the freestanding tent offers a spacious interior suitable for various outdoor settings. It features a weatherproof corridor that attaches to the rear of any four-door Porsche, complete with a large transparent window providing expansive views. For privacy, an integrated screen can be installed over the window. Moreover, built-in vents equipped with mosquito nets ensure proper ventilation while keeping insects at bay.
Setting up the tent is hassle-free, requiring just a few minutes and a practical hand pump to inflate through a central valve. Anchoring to the ground is facilitated by a storm-resistant fastening set featuring reflective belts, while Velcro fasteners secure the floor.
Standard dimensions provide approximately 57 square feet of floor space, with expandability options including an optional extension tent that zips onto the main structure, ideal for creating additional sleeping quarters during overnight stays. Porsche also offers multiple configuration choices for side panels, including options with and without windows or with mesh fabric for insect protection.
Porsche initially made waves in 2022 with its two-person roof tent, compatible with models like the 911, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, and Taycan. The brand suggests that both tent designs can complement each other seamlessly. Additionally, Porsche Design offers a variety of outdoor accessories such as outdoor speakers and thermal travel mugs to enhance the camping experience.
While pricing details for the new canopy tent have not been disclosed, the previous roof tent was priced at €4,980 (approximately $4,550) upon its release in Germany.
This latest offering underscores Porsche’s commitment to combining luxury and functionality in its lineup of outdoor adventure gear.
