Daniel Arsham has once again partnered with custom Porsche interior specialist Justin Placek for an extraordinary makeover of his 993 Carrera S project car. This collaboration, the second between Arsham and Placek, follows their successful first project, the Porsche Sculpture car, which was showcased as part of Arsham’s 20 Years exhibition at Perrotin.
The latest project features Porsche 993 Hardback style seats, meticulously upholstered by Placek in dark green leather. The seat backs are finished in a lighter shade that complements the car’s exterior. According to Placek, the custom work took over 350 hours to complete, with over half of that time dedicated to detailing the smaller elements of the interior.
A standout feature includes Arsham’s logo, digitally rendered and printed using techniques akin to those employed by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. Placek, who also owns a 993 model, described the project as particularly meaningful.
Once finished, the interior will be installed in the car, which will then receive final touches from Arsham and celebrated mechanic Greg Anagnostopoulos. The completed vehicle is slated for its debut at The Bridge car show in the Hamptons this September.
