China’s domestically-developed AG600 large amphibious aircraft has successfully completed a high temperature and high humidity flight test, as announced by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) on Thursday.
This rigorous test, which lasted approximately 2.5 hours, was conducted on Tuesday at an airport in Nanchang, located in east China’s Jiangxi Province. According to AVIC, the nation’s premier aircraft manufacturer, all systems on the AG600 performed exceptionally well throughout the test.
In preparation for the flight, the aircraft was subjected to direct sunlight for five hours in an environment with an average temperature exceeding 35 degrees Celsius and humidity levels surpassing 44 percent. This test is crucial for evaluating the aircraft’s hydraulic system under extreme conditions and is a significant step in the AG600’s certification process.
Earlier this year, the AG600 successfully completed a cold-weather flight test in February in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, as reported by the developer.
