Skincare giant Rodan + Fields is making a major shift in its business model following a substantial US$75 million funding injection. This change will result in the elimination of about 100 roles within the company.
Starting September 1, Rodan + Fields will transition from its traditional multilevel direct-selling structure to a new affiliate program. Under this new model, current R+F consultants will earn higher commissions on direct customer sales and benefit from product discounts. However, commissions from sales made by recruited consultants will be discontinued.
This strategic overhaul is designed to align Rodan + Fields with evolving consumer behaviors and expand its market reach. The company faces growing competition from emerging platforms like TikTok Shop, indie beauty brands, and e-commerce giants such as Amazon. The shift to a more dynamic sales approach is seen as essential for maintaining its competitive edge.
