In a bold move at the intersection of automotive tradition and innovation, Evice is electrifying classic cars once thought to be relics of a bygone era. Previously known for its plans to electrify the Rolls-Royce Phantom, Evice has expanded its ambitions with recent announcements concerning iconic models from Bentley and Rolls-Royce.
A recent report by Autoweek’s Jay Ramey details Evice’s ambitious project to electrify three classic models: the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow and Corniche, and the Bentley T-Series. By leveraging a shared platform strategy, Evice aims to equip these vehicles with a powerful 400hp electric powertrain capable of delivering a range of approximately 200 miles per charge.
Matthew Pearson, co-founder of Evice, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “By integrating smooth, silent 800V electric power, we are elevating these classics to new heights, surpassing the capabilities of their previous combustion engines. We choose electric not out of necessity, but out of a desire to make cars that are better, purer, and more enjoyable.”
Currently, Evice is actively testing its first prototype, R001, an electric Silver Shadow, with road tests scheduled for this fall. As of June 2024, the company estimated it was halfway through a two-year development schedule, suggesting a potential delay before the electric T-Series hits the open road. Nevertheless, anticipation is high for these revitalized classics to make their mark in the automotive world.
