Esqa, Indonesia’s pioneering vegan cosmetics brand, has raised US$4 million in a Series B funding round, led by Unilever Ventures. This latest investment builds on their previous US$6 million Series A round in 2022, bringing Esqa’s total funding to US$10 million since its inception in 2016 by Cindy Angelina and Kezia Trihatmanto.
Esqa distinguishes itself as Indonesia’s first vegan cosmetics brand, offering Halal-certified makeup products. With a robust presence on social media platforms, particularly TikTok, Esqa has experienced rapid growth, boasting a team of over 70 employees and establishing a footprint across 47 local cities and several Southeast Asian markets.
The infusion of capital from this funding round will fuel Esqa’s ambitious expansion efforts, including the opening of new retail outlets and further bolstering its social media-centric growth strategy.
