Paris/Milan— Iconic fashion label Karl Lagerfeld has entered a strategic partnership with Italian jewellery brand Morellato, marking the beginning of a long-term collaboration set to debut in Fall/Winter 2024. This venture will see the release of two collections annually, encompassing a range from everyday jewellery and watches to exclusive, limited-edition pieces.
The collections will fuse Karl Lagerfeld’s Parisian flair and rock-chic aesthetics with Morellato’s rich Italian heritage and craftsmanship. While Karl Lagerfeld will oversee the collections’ stylistic direction, Morellato will manage product development and global retail distribution.
The Karl Lagerfeld watch collections will be available worldwide, with the exception of the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Meanwhile, the jewellery line will be marketed in key markets across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and South Korea.
Consumers can find these products through Morellato’s expansive retail network, which includes 650 owned stores in Italy, France, and Germany, six e-shops, and over 7,000 multibrand retailers. Additionally, the collections will be sold at Karl Lagerfeld stores and online through the brand’s e-commerce platform.
Pier Paolo Righi, CEO of Lagerfeld, emphasized the significance of accessories in Karl Lagerfeld’s personal style: “Directional accessories were an integral element of Karl’s wardrobe, with jewellery and watches part of the way he used to express his style. Our partnership with Morellato will enable us to expand this category, connecting with new and established consumers.”
For Morellato, the collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld enriches its extensive licence portfolio, which includes prestigious brands such as Maserati, Chiara Ferragni, Trussardi, Esprit, Jette, and Guido Maria Kretschmer. The Morellato Group, which owns 15 brands including Morellato and Sector No Limits, aims to strengthen its presence in the aspirational market segment.
