The new fourth-generation Continental GT Speed made its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK this Thursday. Following its achievement of an unofficial “Underwater Speed Record” in a tunnel, the supercar, capable of reaching 335 km/h, is showcased at the event in both coupe and convertible versions. It will participate in the famous Goodwood Hillclimb until Sunday.
The new Continental GT Speed is equipped with Bentley’s Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain, delivering an impressive 782 hp and 1000 Nm of maximum torque. This new powertrain runs on second-generation renewable biofuel SUSTAIN from Coryton and features a hybrid battery charged using electricity from Bentley’s solar panel system.
In addition to the two models racing in the Goodwood Hillclimb, Bentley is displaying a third model in Tourmaline Green paint. This car is presented behind a three-ton aquarium filled with 1400 liters of water and various fish, celebrating the new underwater speed record set by the Continental GT Speed. The car achieved its maximum speed in the 14.5 km Ryfylke tunnel in Norway, the world’s longest road tunnel and deepest underwater tunnel, with its lowest point 292 meters below sea level.
