Apple is reportedly set to introduce the Apple Watch Series 10 with a larger display and a sleeker design, marking significant updates to commemorate its tenth anniversary. According to a Bloomberg report, the next-generation Apple Watch will feature a display size comparable to the Apple Watch Ultra models, with Apple potentially branding it as an anniversary model similar to the iPhone “X” launched in 2017.
Apple Watch Series 10 and Ultra 3: Design Enhancements
The report reveals that Apple has internally codenamed the two models of the Watch Series 10 as N217 and N218. Both models are expected to boast larger displays akin to the Apple Watch Ultra’s, while also being thinner than previous versions. Despite these changes, the design will remain consistent with the current generation’s aesthetic.
For the Apple Watch Ultra 3, no major design alterations are anticipated, suggesting that Apple will maintain the existing look of its high-end model.
Performance and AI Integration
The upcoming Apple Watch Series 10 and Watch Ultra 3 are set to be powered by a new chip designed to support future AI-powered tools and features. However, these AI capabilities, referred to as Apple Intelligence, will not be integrated into the wearables at this stage.
Health Monitoring Features
Apple had planned to introduce new health monitoring features, including high blood pressure detection and Sleep Apnea detection, in this year’s models. However, these features have faced delays due to reliability issues during testing. The Sleep Apnea detection, which requires blood oxygen saturation level measurement, has also sparked a legal dispute with Masimo Corp.
While the new health features might be announced at Apple’s anticipated launch event in late September, their release could be postponed to a later date. Additionally, Apple is working on glucose monitoring for future Apple Watches, but this feature is not expected to be available on the Apple Watch Series 10.
As Apple prepares to celebrate a decade of innovation with the Apple Watch, the Series 10 promises to deliver notable advancements in design and performance, setting a new standard for wearable technology.
