Shiseido and MaxMara have announced a significant long-term partnership, granting the J-beauty powerhouse exclusive worldwide rights to develop, produce, market, and distribute fragrances under the MaxMara brand.
This marks a new chapter for MaxMara, the esteemed Italian fashion label owned by the Maramotti family, which previously collaborated with Selective Beauty on its fragrance lines, debuting its first scent in 2004.
Masahiko Uotani, Chairman and CEO of Shiseido, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting MaxMara’s reputation for Italian luxury and its rich history. “MaxMara is cherished globally for its high quality, uncompromising brand value, and design sensibilities,” Uotani remarked. He emphasized the strong alignment between the two companies, noting shared values in corporate culture, management philosophies, and talent development. Uotani believes this partnership will not only drive growth in Shiseido’s fragrance business but also create valuable synergies.
This strategic alliance promises to leverage the strengths of both brands, potentially reshaping the fragrance landscape and delivering luxurious, high-quality scents to a global audience.
