The 2025 BMW 3 Series is set to debut in Australia with significant price reductions, marking its most affordable offering in two years. The latest models are expected to arrive later this year, featuring price cuts of up to $6000.
This adjustment follows a notable price increase of $10,100 for the 330i variant in late 2022, and an $8700 hike for the M340i six-cylinder model in its latest iteration. Despite these fluctuations, the lineup now includes only three models: the 330i sedan and wagon, and the M340i sedan, following the discontinuation of the 320i and plug-in hybrid 330e earlier this year.
Over the past five years, the entry point to the 3 Series range has risen by $25,000, reflecting added equipment and updates since the current model’s introduction. The 2025 update marks the second styling refresh for this generation, introducing mild design tweaks, a new steering wheel, and mechanical enhancements.
Anticipated to maintain its appeal until the next-generation model arrives in 2027—two years beyond BMW’s typical lifecycle—the 2025 3 Series also introduces exterior refinements such as new 19-inch alloy wheel designs. Interior updates include elements borrowed from the newer 5 Series, with glass trim on controls and updated iDrive 8.5 software featuring customizable shortcuts.
Enhancements to ride comfort include stiffer rear damper mounts and lighter steering in Comfort mode, while standard features on the 330i now include an electrically-operated glass sunroof, black exterior trim, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. The M340i variant adds tyre pressure monitors and CraftedClarity glass interior accents, with additional option packs available across models.
Powering the 330i is a 190kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, capable of 0-100km/h in 5.8 seconds for the sedan and 6.1 seconds for the Touring wagon. The M340i boasts a 285kW/500Nm 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine, propelling it from 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds with all-wheel drive. Both models utilize an eight-speed automatic transmission.
With its arrival anticipated by year-end, the 2025 BMW 3 Series aims to deliver enhanced performance, comfort, and updated technology to Australian markets.
