The recently concluded Jewellery & Gem Asia (JGA) Hong Kong 2024 showcased a vibrant display of Indian gems and jewellery, supported by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) of India. Held from June 20-23 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event served as a crucial B2B platform for the industry across Asia.
Organized by Informa Markets, the show featured the India Pavilion, curated by GJEPC, hosting 12 exhibitors. Spanning 117 sqm, the pavilion spotlighted India’s rich diversity and craftsmanship in gems and jewellery, strategically located across multiple halls.
Among the exhibitors, A.J. Mehta & Co. LLP from Mumbai reported positive outcomes, noting steady business particularly among high-end Hong Kong-based designers seeking fancy shape diamonds. Despite a cautious market sentiment with buyers preferring smaller, more frequent restocks, exhibitors like Jatin Gems of Jaipur highlighted strong demand for semi-precious gemstone-set jewellery.
Ankit Shah of KOLORS emphasized the growing preference for natural colour diamonds, citing stability in pricing compared to white diamonds. The allure of rare gems like a 3-carat green diamond sold at the event underscored the appeal of these investments.
Reflecting on the significance of the Hong Kong market, Vipul Shah, Chairman of GJEPC, reaffirmed India’s commitment to showcasing exceptional quality and craftsmanship globally. The event further cemented India’s leadership in the gem and jewellery sector, reinforcing its position through premier international platforms like JGA Hong Kong.
Exhibitors in Hall 3FG focused on loose diamonds, featuring prominent names like H R Diam, KOLORS, and Venu Diamond. The gemstone section in Hall 3C hosted Chordia Gems Private Limited, Royal Gems Impex, and M S Gems, while Hall 1AE showcased jewellery from Pietre Del Mondo, Jatin Gems, Panchoo Jewels LLP, and Surya Jewellers.
The participation of Indian exhibitors at Jewellery & Gems Asia Hong Kong 2024 highlighted their commitment to excellence and innovation in the global jewellery market.
