Jacob & Co has once again blurred the lines between high horology and automotive engineering with the introduction of the Bugatti Tourbillon. Following their collaboration on the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon in 2020, which saw limited production of 250 units, this latest timepiece redefines luxury with a price tag of $340,000.
The Bugatti Tourbillon features a striking black titanium case and a sapphire engine block, showcasing 16 titanium pistons that emulate the iconic W16 engine found in Bugatti’s hyper sports cars. A standout feature is the 20-second animated sequence, a mesmerizing display that brings the intricate engine to life.
At its heart, the watch boasts 557 components and a 30-second double-pace flying tourbillon, complemented by a twin power reserve and a crown inspired by the control knobs of the Bugatti Chiron. Sub-dials resembling the hypercar’s dashboard and rev counter further enhance the watch’s automotive theme.
Jacob & Co emphasizes that ten design elements directly echo the Bugatti Chiron, including the case shape mirroring the car’s profile and sapphire openings resembling its side windows. The collaboration between Jacob & Co and Bugatti began in 2022, with extensive design sessions at Bugatti’s studio leading to an 18-month creation process.
Jacob Arabo, Founder of Jacob & Co, commented, “I strive to push the boundaries of watchmaking with designs and complications that surpass expectations. Bugatti shares this ethos, constantly pushing the limits of what’s possible. The Bugatti Tourbillon stands as our pinnacle achievement, born from an exceptional partnership.”
With production limited to just 150 units, the Bugatti Tourbillon embodies exclusivity and innovation, offering enthusiasts and collectors a rare glimpse into the synergy between haute horology and automotive excellence.
