Additional aesthetic features include black inserts on the bumper sides, ‘M’ badging on the front fender, flush-fitting door handles, ‘5’ badging on the C-pillar, and sleek wraparound LED taillights.
Inside, the new 5 Series sets its sights on competing with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB by offering a wealth of luxurious features. The dashboard is highlighted by a curved dual-screen setup consisting of a 14.9-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch driver’s display. Notable interior amenities include a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, reclining rear seats, a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite, USB Type-C charging ports, and electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats.
Powering the new-gen 5 Series is expected to be a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Shortly after launch, a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine is anticipated to become available. BMW also plans to introduce a mild-hybrid system to complement these powertrain options.
