Paris Fashion Week June 2024 has witnessed a flurry of activity from major sneaker brands like New Balance, adidas, and ASICS, each unveiling their latest offerings.
However, it’s ASICS, the Japanese brand, that has captured the spotlight with a stunning display at a serene pop-up venue. Decked out to evoke tranquility and comfort, ASICS has unveiled an extensive lineup in collaboration with four distinguished partners.
Leading the charge is Cecilie Bahnsen, known for her ASICS GT-2160 collaboration last year, who has reimagined the women’s GEL-QUANTUM 360 VIII into a sandal format. The lace-less design, adorned with metallic silver flowers in shades of yellow and light blue, reflects Bahnsen’s signature style of modern femininity.
Staying true to their Japanese roots, ASICS has teamed up with architect Kengo Kuma on a new Archisite ORU colorway. Inspired by origami, the shoe features a translucent shroud and an intricately designed upper, showcased through detailed campaign images.
Australian sneaker boutique Up There brings an outdoorsy vibe with their ASICS GEL-Terrain, incorporating recycled materials and highlighted by a functional s-biner woven into the laces, symbolizing the harmony between natural and artificial worlds.
Rounding out the collaborations, Tokyo’s doublet teases the upcoming GEL-Kayano 20 and unveils an impressive array of twenty custom GEL-Nimbus 10.1 colorways, marking a bold entry into the Sportstyle family.
In addition to these collaborations, ASICS also introduces new GR models, including fresh interpretations of the GEL-QUANTUM 360 VIII and GT-2160.
The pop-up exhibition is hosting staggered releases from June 20th to June 22nd: the Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS GEL-QUANTUM 360 VIII on June 20th, Kengo Kuma x Archisite ORU on June 21st, and doublet x GEL-Nimbus 10.1 and Up There x GEL-Terrain on June 22nd, creating a buzz among sneaker enthusiasts and fashion aficionados alike.
