F.A.T. International, renowned for its historic victory three decades ago, has made a monumental comeback at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Spearheaded by Ferdi Porsche, this revival sees F.A.T.’s iconic branding adorning Proton Competition’s Porsche 963 Hypercar, car number 99, as part of the 2024 World Endurance Championship (WEC) season.
Neel Jani, the seasoned driver leading car 99, expressed his anticipation, stating, “After our strong performance at Spa, leading for nearly 2 hours, we’re eager to take on the challenge of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.” Joining Jani are Harry Tincknell and Julien Andlauer, forming a formidable team aiming for new triumphs at the prestigious Circuit de la Sarthe.
To celebrate its return, F.A.T. International has launched a limited edition capsule collection of apparel. This exclusive range includes race suits crafted in collaboration with Sparco, alongside a variety of streetwear items. Available from June 14, the collection seamlessly blends F.A.T.’s rich heritage with contemporary design sensibilities.
Ferdi Porsche emphasized the significance of this milestone, stating, “Bringing F.A.T. International back to Le Mans is a momentous occasion. Our new livery pays homage to classic designs while embracing modern aesthetics. This partnership with Proton Competition underscores our commitment to excellence and innovation.”
Chris Ried, owner of Proton Competition, echoed Porsche’s sentiments, acknowledging F.A.T.’s storied legacy in motorsport and expressing pride in this collaborative endeavor.
