Nivea India, a brand under Beiersdorf, has reached a noteworthy milestone in its commitment to reducing plastic waste. Over the past four and a half years, the company has successfully recycled 65 tons of multi-layer plastics (MLP), converting them into durable materials used for constructing shop display units.
This initiative has led to significant environmental benefits, including the conservation of 1755 cubic meters of water and the offsetting of 358 tons of CO2 emissions. Moreover, it has created employment opportunities for 1,000 individuals in the region.
Neha Parekh, Supply Chain Director at Nivea India, expressed her satisfaction with the achievement, stating, “The vision for this project began over four years ago, and through meticulous planning and collaboration with our partner agencies, we are delighted to witness the impactful outcomes of our efforts. This initiative not only promotes environmental sustainability but also enhances the operational efficiency of our distributors.”
She further emphasized Nivea’s global program, ‘Care Beyond Skin,’ which underscores the brand’s commitment to making sustainable contributions to society, people, and the environment. Parekh highlighted how the project aligns with Nivea’s core values of safety, quality, and sustainability, ultimately fostering positive transformation nationwide.
