Spirits Platform has secured an exclusive distribution deal with Lark Distilling Co. within Australia, marking a strategic move to integrate Lark Whisky and Forty Spotted Gin into its core portfolio as the sole Australian brands.
Ian Atherton, CEO of Spirits Platform, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the alignment of Lark and Forty Spotted with Spirits Platform’s premium international brands. “We are thrilled that Lark has selected Spirits Platform as their domestic distributor. It has long been our goal to represent an iconic Australian brand with substantial growth potential,” Atherton stated.
Spirits Platform’s extensive sales force, numbering 28, offers Lark a significant advantage in reaching broader markets compared to Lark’s own smaller team. This collaboration is expected to foster substantial growth opportunities for Lark in the Australian market, particularly within the ultra-premium single malt whisky segment.
Satya Sharma, CEO of Lark Distilling Co., emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership in reinforcing Lark’s market leadership in Australia. “This investment with Spirits Platform, leveraging their expertise in luxury brand building, aligns perfectly with our growth strategy,” Sharma remarked.
Spirits Platform’s diverse portfolio includes renowned names such as Remy Cointreau, The Macallan, and Licor 43, aligning well with the target customer base of Lark and Forty Spotted. Atherton noted that Lark, along with upcoming additions to their portfolio, will play a pivotal role in Spirits Platform’s ambitious five-year growth plan.
“As Australia’s leading independent spirits distributor, we are scaling up to double our revenue over the next five years. Our expanded team of 81 employees, a 17% increase this year, will enhance our ability to serve customers and drive growth,” Atherton added.
The collaboration between Spirits Platform and Lark Distilling Co. marks a significant milestone for both companies, promising enhanced market presence and strategic growth opportunities in the Australian spirits sector.
