Royal Huisman has proudly announced the completion and imminent departure of the 52-metre sportfisher yacht, Special One, also known as Project 406, marking a milestone as the world’s largest true sportfisher yacht.
Project 406, initially unveiled in April 2021 with contracts finalized in 2020, saw its hull and superstructure joined in 2022, followed by its first public appearance outside the shipyard in November 2023. Launched in February 2024, Special One has successfully undergone rigorous sea trials in the North Sea, near the Netherlands. The yacht boasts six decks and an interior volume of 500 GT, meticulously designed by Vripack Yacht Design.
Pascarelli Consulting served as the owner’s representative throughout the build, collaborating with Bush & Noble and Hampshire Marine. Crafted from Alustar® aluminum, this custom-built motor yacht caters specifically to an experienced sportfishing enthusiast. Special One’s design includes a distinctive exterior with a long bow, high bulwarks, and a clear sheer leading to a spacious and uncluttered aft cockpit.
Highlighting its functionality for sportfishing, the yacht features a high tower offering panoramic views and a unique vantage point for observing and participating in fishing activities. CEO of Royal Huisman, Jan Timmerman, underscored the company’s commitment to delivering bespoke superyachts tailored precisely to client specifications.
“The delivery of Project 406 is a testament to our commitment to delivering unique and bespoke superyachts,” explained Jan Timmerman, CEO of Royal Huisman. “This motor yacht project showcases our ability to create custom solutions that perfectly align with our client’s vision.”
Special One is scheduled to make its public debut under the Royal Huisman banner at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2024, promising unparalleled luxury and performance on the seas.
