OMEGA and Swatch have once again joined forces to introduce their latest creation, the MoonSwatch series, showcasing a trio of Mission on Earth timepieces that pay homage to the diverse composition of our planet. This recent announcement adds to the ongoing collaborative efforts between the two renowned companies, following a series of iterations including the Mission to the Moon and the Mission to the Moonphase monochrome timepieces featuring Snoopy on the dial.
Crafted with Swatch’s innovative Bioceramic material, the Mission on Earth watches draw inspiration from OMEGA’s iconic Speedmaster Moon Watch. With a 42mm-wide watch case, each variant is adorned in a distinctive color palette reflective of its namesake, accompanied by a specialized velcro strap designed to complement the overall aesthetic.
The Desert model captures the essence of desert sands with its taupe-colored strap, bezel, and dial, evoking a sense of warmth and tranquility. In contrast, the Lava variant boasts a predominantly black design accented by a vibrant vermillion case, hands, buckles, and stitching, paying homage to the intense energy of volcanic eruptions. Notably, the central seconds hand of this model is inspired by the 1968 “Ultraman” Moonwatch, adding a nostalgic touch to its modern appeal.
Completing the collection, the Polar Lights model features a captivating blend of bright turquoise and deep blue tones. Its dial, adorned with silver-tone flakes against a midnight blue backdrop, offers a mesmerizing resemblance to aventurine glass dials, adding a touch of celestial elegance.
Each Mission on Earth timepiece proudly showcases a color imprint of planet Earth on its caseback, symbolizing its connection to the diverse landscapes of our world. Priced at $300 USD each, these exclusive models will be available for purchase exclusively through select Swatch boutiques worldwide starting June 15.
