Bulgari, rooted in the heart of Rome and inspired continually by its heritage, proudly introduces its latest masterpiece: the Aeterna high jewellery collection. This collection, brimming with inventive diamond and coloured gemstone necklaces, commemorates the Italian jeweller’s remarkable 140th anniversary.
The unveiling took place amidst the timeless beauty of Rome’s historic Terme di Diocleziano, where celebrity ambassadors Anne Hathaway, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Liu Yifei, Shu Qi, Hikari Mori, and Alessandro Gassman graced the celebration bedecked in pieces from the resplendent collection.
Aeterna, a labor of love by Lucia Silvestri, the brand’s jewelry creative director, and Bulgari product creation executive director Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, along with a team of master craftsmen, serves as a tribute to the esteemed jewellery house’s past, present, and future on this significant anniversary.
The pièce de résistance of the collection is the Serpenti Aeterna necklace, heralded as the most precious diamond high jewellery piece ever crafted by Bulgari. This masterpiece, consuming over 2,800 hours of meticulous craftsmanship, revolves around a rough diamond surpassing 200.00 carats. The diamond is meticulously cut to fashion seven D flawless ultra-clear and pure pear diamond drops, totaling 140.00 carats, symbolizing each year of Bulgari’s illustrious history. Additionally, it boasts 698 baguette diamonds weighing 61.81 carats.
“We wanted to create something unique in a Bulgari way, keep challenging ourselves, and surprising everyone with the decision to give diamonds the role of the protagonist while incorporating them into the Serpenti family,” explains Silvestri. “A necklace that symbolizes eternity, as eternal as Bulgari and as eternal as Rome, the city where it all began, and the brand’s ability to continuously reinvent itself,” she adds.
Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bvlgari Group, lauds Serpenti Aeterna as the “pinnacle of excellence.” “It blends the most extraordinary diamonds recently crafted together with Serpenti, the most desired jewellery and watch symbol of the last decades,” he remarks, tracing its lineage back to Cleopatra’s era in 46 BC and its modern resurgence in 1948 by the visionary Bulgari family with the jewelry secret watches.
The Aeterna collection encompasses over 500 creations, including high jewellery and high jewellery watches, high-end bags, and high-end fragrances, embodying Bulgari’s unwavering commitment to timeless elegance and innovation.
