BMW’s esteemed 4-Series range has undergone a significant mid-cycle refresh for the 2025 model year, showcasing a blend of performance and innovation. Among the highlights of this update is the introduction of the high-octane M4 CS coupe, poised to elevate driving enthusiasts’ experience to new heights.
Unveiled on Tuesday, the 2025 M4 CS is slated to make its grand entrance into showrooms later this year, carrying a starting price tag of $124,675, inclusive of a $1,175 destination charge.
Scheduled for its official debut on May 10, BMW has confirmed that orders for the M4 CS will commence at the end of the month. Anticipated to be a limited edition offering, akin to its predecessor, the M3 CS of 2024, and the earlier-generation M4 CS from the last decade.
Serving as a vital link between the standard M4 Competition grade and the adrenaline-inducing M4 CSL introduced in 2023, the M4 CS promises heightened performance with a blend of power enhancement and weight reduction.
BMW boasts impressive performance figures, citing a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed electronically capped at 188 mph. Additionally, the M4 CS has reportedly clocked a lap time of 7:21.99 at Germany’s renowned Nürburgring racetrack.
Under the hood, the M4 CS is fueled by BMW M’s renowned 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-6 engine, tuned to produce a formidable 543 horsepower, aligning with the output of the M4 CSL variant. Power is efficiently channeled through an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel-drive system, with the option for rear-wheel-drive configuration for purists seeking an authentic driving experience.
To achieve weight reduction, BMW employs lightweight materials such as carbon-fiber-reinforced-plastic for the hood, roof, front splitter, and other aerodynamic elements, shaving off approximately 45 pounds compared to the M4 Competition model.
Further enhancing performance dynamics, the chassis receives upgrades including a front strut brace, uprated brakes with carbon-ceramic rotors available as an option, and forged wheels equipped with performance tires. The M4 CS also features unique settings for wheel camber, anti-roll bars, and adaptive dampers, ensuring optimal handling and agility on the road or track.
In line with the updated 2025 4-Series range, the M4 CS showcases refreshed designs for its lighting elements, including distinct yellow daytime running lights for added visual appeal.
Stepping inside, occupants are greeted with exclusive “M4 CS” sill plates and a cabin adorned with carbon-fiber-reinforced-plastic accents, including the standard sport bucket seats featuring Merino leather trim. Noteworthy additions include a sport steering wheel with Alcantara trim and the inclusion of M Drive Professional package, offering features like M Drift Analyzer, M Laptimer, and M Traction Control.
In essence, the 2025 BMW M4 CS embodies a harmonious blend of performance, luxury, and cutting-edge technology, setting a new standard for enthusiasts in the high-performance coupe segment.
