In the heart of New York Fashion Week, the universal language of fashion spoke volumes at Runway 7, a premier attraction held at the iconic Sony Hall. Celebrating the diversity of styles from around the world, the event showcased designs under the theme “Made In,” featuring the works of 117 designers hailing from 10 different nations during its four-day run.
From the fusion of Indian and Western styles by Anjali Phougat to Microteje’s Chilean streetwear, Runway 7 presented a vibrant and global array of inspiring creations. Illuminating these designs was a lighting design by Myles Mangino, featuring 20 Ovation E-260WW warm white ellipsoidals, supplied by ATD AV.
Positioned primarily on each side of the runway, the ellipsoidals, with their 230-watt output mimicking a 750W tungsten, played a pivotal role in accentuating the artistry of the showcased designs. Mangino, the talented lighting designer, utilized the smooth, even field of light produced by the fixtures, along with their smooth dimming curve. The fixtures’ selectable Pulse Width Modulation ensured camera-friendly lighting for the extensively documented event, capturing every detail of the diverse and colorful collection.
Expressing his preference for single chip COB warm white fixtures like the Ovation E-260WW, Mangino highlighted their high Color Rendering Index (CRI) and ability to closely emulate tungsten lighting, providing natural and warm skin tones. This feature was particularly crucial in showcasing the rich and varied hues of the global collection featured on Runway 7.
As Karl Lagerfeld aptly noted, “Fashion is a language that creates itself in clothes,” and at Runway 7, this language resonated across cultures, creating a powerful and visually stunning dialogue that illuminated the essence of global fashion during New York Fashion Week.
