OnePlus is gearing up for the release of its highly anticipated OnePlus Watch 2, with the official launch scheduled during the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Prior to the unveiling, prominent tipster Ishan Agrawal has disclosed the expected pricing for the device in India, along with figures for the US, UK, and Europe.
According to Agrawal, the OnePlus Watch 2 is slated to be priced at Rs 24,999 in India. In the US, the smartwatch will be available at $299, in Europe at 329 Euros, and in the UK at 299 pounds.
The official confirmation from OnePlus indicates that the next-generation flagship smartwatch is set to hit the market on February 26. While details regarding the specifications and features are yet to be fully disclosed, the company has provided a glimpse into the design and battery performance of the upcoming device.
In a community post on their website, OnePlus revealed the launch time as 8:30 PM IST, generating significant anticipation for the event. Although specific specifications are not fully disclosed, OnePlus did share insights into the design and battery capabilities.
The OnePlus Watch 2, succeeding the original 2021 debutant, will feature a stainless-steel chassis and sapphire crystal glass, enhancing durability and style. Available in Black Steel and Radiant Steel colors, the smartwatch aims to combine elegance with robustness.
One of the key highlights emphasized by OnePlus is the impressive battery life of the Watch 2. The company claims it can last up to 100 hours in “full Smart Mode,” surpassing competitors like the Apple Watch Series 9 and setting a new standard for battery endurance in the smartwatch market.
The device has already generated significant interest, with over 1,500 pre-reserve passes sold out ahead of the launch. However, prospective buyers can still secure their device by pre-reserving it for Rs 99 on the official OnePlus India website. Furthermore, early reservations come with a Rs 1,000 discount on the watch and a complimentary pair of Bullets Wireless Z2 ANC earphones.
While specific features are yet to be unveiled, leaks suggest the OnePlus Watch 2 will include a 1.43-inch AMOLED display and be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset. The operating system is anticipated to run on Wear OS, although the exact version, whether Wear OS 3 or Wear OS 4, remains undisclosed.
Notably, global availability is confirmed, with a dedicated landing page on Amazon. The pricing strategy for the OnePlus Watch 2 remains intriguing, with expectations that it may either be slightly more affordable to attract consumers or maintain a competitive pricing structure. OnePlus faces the challenge of persuading users to upgrade from the first generation, priced at Rs 16,999. The official launch promises to reveal the complete array of features and innovations that the OnePlus Watch 2 brings to the competitive smartwatch landscape.
