Wine Tasmania is extending a unique invitation to wine buying professionals across the country, urging them to participate in exclusive and personalized wine tours scheduled for April and May. The highly coveted spots for these tours are limited, offering buyers a rare opportunity to embark on personalized journeys through the state’s renowned wineries.
CEO Sheralee Davies emphasizes the significance of these tours as a crucial avenue for buyers to establish meaningful connections with Tasmanian wine producers. “Tasmania’s exceptional wines and their talented producers have garnered widespread attention, both domestically and internationally. Exploring the island and engaging with its skilled wine producers is the optimal way to grasp the depth, diversity, and regional nuances of our outstanding wines, and to truly experience the place we are privileged to call home,” she stated.
Now in its second year, the Tassie Wine Trade visit will guide Tasmanian wine professionals through vineyards in either the northern region on 8 April or the southern region on 15 April, strategically timed to coincide with the peak period of vineyard activity.
The National Wine Trade visit, a fixture since 2010, has played host to over 100 influential interstate wine buyers. The 2024 visit, scheduled for 12 to 14 May, is open to professionals directly responsible for wholesale wine purchasing within mainland-based restaurants, wine bars, or wine retail businesses. The event, supported by the Tasmanian Government, accommodates only ten participants per visit, making the available slots highly sought after.
Sheralee Davies highlighted the demand for Tasmania’s wines, often surpassing annual wine production, and the scarcity of many offerings, which are either hard to find or available in limited quantities. “Our wine trade visitation programs serve as a crucial link between the country’s premier venues and Tasmania’s most highly regarded wine producers,” she explained.
Applications for these exclusive tours are currently open, with the deadline set for 15 March. Successful participants will be notified of their acceptance by 22 March, adding to the anticipation surrounding these highly sought-after experiences.
