The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) announces the eagerly awaited return of the 40th Hong Kong International Jewellery Show and 10th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, restoring the ‘two shows, two venues’ format for the first time post-pandemic. Anticipating over 4,000 exhibitors from 40 countries and regions, these premier events are set to attract industry enthusiasts, showcasing the latest trends and innovations.
Scheduled from February 27 to March 2 at AsiaWorld-Expo and February 29 to March 4 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the twin shows provide a global platform for sourcing and trade opportunities.
Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, revealed the theme “Be Part of the Splendid Legacy” for this year’s jewellery shows. With more than 60% of exhibitors coming from outside Hong Kong, the international appeal of these events underscores the city’s status as a key international trade and jewellery sourcing hub. Over 90 buyer missions from 65 countries and regions are expected to participate.
Hong Kong’s fine jewellery exports saw a notable rebound, reaching HK$87.8 billion (US$11.2 billion) last year, marking a 23% increase compared to 2022 and a remarkable 40% surge from pre-pandemic levels in 2019. Significant growth was observed in exports to Mainland China, the United States, and Switzerland.
The shows boast 36 pavilions supported by jewellery trade associations and organizations worldwide. Participants include Belgium, Brazil, Mainland China, Colombia, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, and the debut of Malaysia. Industry pavilions like the Tanzanite Foundation, Asia Pacific Creators Association, and International Coloured Gems Association are returning, while the T-GOLD+METS Pavilion debuts, focusing on jewellery manufacturing machinery.
The Hong Kong International Jewellery Show comprises 18 zones, featuring the Hall of Extraordinary with 78 global exhibitors presenting exquisite diamond, gemstone, jade, and pearl jewellery. The Designer Galleria showcases culturally inspired creative designs, emphasizing traditional craftsmanship merged with modern aesthetics.
The Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show includes 11 zones, highlighting high-end product zones like Hall of Fine Diamond, Treasures of Nature, and Treasures of Ocean, showcasing top-quality white diamonds, coloured diamonds, gemstones, pearls, and raw materials from around the world.
More than 30 seminars, exhibitor forums, and parades will facilitate industry exchange, covering topics like the Future of Chinese Jewellery Design, AI Empowerment, and market trends analyzed by industry experts.
Digital platforms, including the HKTDC Marketplace App and official websites, enhance the trade fair experience with efficient registration, verification, and business-matching capabilities. The EXHIBITION+ hybrid mode allows on-site purchases alongside online discussions through the Click2Match platform until March 11.
These events mark a significant step towards the revival of the international jewellery industry, providing a dynamic platform for networking, sourcing, and staying abreast of the latest trends in the global market.
