Cosmax, a leading player in the Korean cosmetics ODM industry, has recently unveiled plans for a dedicated Over-The-Counter (OTC) lab specializing in sunscreen products. This state-of-the-art facility, situated within the company’s Research and Innovation (R&I) Center in South Korea, is designed to seamlessly support the entire sunscreen product production process, spanning from initial research to manufacturing.
Notably, Cosmax stands as a trailblazer in the Korean cosmetics Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) sector by securing certification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Over-The-Counter products. The company’s commitment to regulatory compliance is further demonstrated through its specialized management system, allowing real-time adaptation to the dynamic landscape of evolving FDA regulations on OTC products.
The strategic move to establish the OTC Lab comes as Cosmax endeavors to bolster its expertise in the sun care domain, driven by escalating demand from its clientele aspiring to penetrate the competitive U.S. sun care market.
Chun-ho Park, Vice President of COSMAX R&I Center, articulates the company’s vision, stating, “In response to the increasing demand from Korean and global clients to enter the US sun care market, we have established the OTC Lab. Drawing upon our extensive experience in manufacturing OTC sunscreen products since 2016, COSMAX remains committed to continuous innovation, aligning our products with the evolving trends and regulations of the US market.”
Cosmax’s forward-thinking approach not only positions the company as an industry frontrunner but also reflects its dedication to meeting the evolving needs of its customers in a dynamic global market.
